And if your pool isn’t in great shape, consider a pool renovation. Pool rehabilitations and backyard renovations include everything from adding new pumping systems, repairing liners, installing new tile or hardscaping, and building waterfalls. Rehab projects help restore pools to their original state while renovation can add a new dimension to your backyard The sky is the limit as far as what the projects can entail—but consumers are saving money by choosing pool restorations instead of reconstructing new pools and landscapes. GreenWorks, LLC, specializes in pool rehabs and provides customized project plans for complete property renovations based on individual customer needs. The green design firm also has an extensive base of environmental scientists and planners on staff so they can provide comprehensive solutions to problems such as drainage issues. “At GreenWorks, we provide total pool, pond and water feature design and rehabilitation services. This means that if the concrete around your pool is sinking or needs to be repaired or your pavers are uneven or present hazardous walking pathways, we can solve these problems. Our landscape experience is just as priceless to spruce up around the pool area,” said Nicky Coppola, Exterior Designer / Construction Manager “There’s a real value in being able to upgrade your pool, pool equipment and entire backyard not only in being able to save money and avoid starting from scratch, but in retaining a firm that has the expertise to handle all of the issues that can come up in a pool restoration project.” GreenWorks also completes all types of pond rehabs from farm and koi ponds to stormwater management basins, addressing everything from aesthetic features to ensuring an optimum aquatic environment. “Pond restorations are instrumental to bring older ponds back to life while making sure that the environmental conditions support healthy aquatic ecosystems promoting good water quality,” said Nick Coppola, Principal Landscape Architect. “These cost-effective rehabilitations can add tremendous value to any backyard while fostering a relaxing, pleasant atmosphere.” GreenWorks Environmental, LLC, specializes in green design, green construction, environmental science, and land planning. West Long Branch, local green company team up to lower pollution, manage stormwater (Allenwood, New Jersey) March 16, 2009 –Residents of West Long Branch, New Jersey, are embracing rain gardens as a simple way to go green. The municipality has teamed up with the environmental consultants at GreenWorks Environmental, LLC, in hopes to promote this easy, affordable method of greening. GreenWorks will host a “Green Starts at Home” booth for the town’s Earth Day Festival on Friday, April 24th. Additionally, professionals from the green-centric firm attended an environmental commission meeting to educate members on ways to create rain gardens. Now the West Long Branch Environmental Commission is hoping that residents embrace this environmentally friendly technique. “We think it’s so important to educate the public on the use of rain gardens. They are amazing and really help our environment,” said Joe Hughes, chairman of the West Long Branch Environmental Commission. “And they are pretty cost-effective, too.” Rain gardens reduce pollution, flooding and erosion by rerouting and absorbing water from impervious surfaces such as roofs, driveways and walkways. They enable stormwater to soak into the ground instead of flowing into storm drains and surface water. Rain gardens are planted with suitable trees, shrubs, flowers, and other plants and allow runoff to infiltrate into the ground and nurture the surrounding plants instead of contributing to stormwater and surface water contamination. Rain gardens can cut down on the amount of effluence reaching creeks and streams by up to 30 percent. Additionally, rain gardens offer a wildlife habitat and can boost the diversity of birds and butterflies depending on the vegetation grown. They also require less maintenance than lawns and offer a creative landscape feature. “When adopted community-wide, rain gardens can lower storm drain overload and flooding, which is ideal for a coastal town such as West Long Branch—or any Jersey Shore town,” said Victor Coppola, a GreenWorks environmental planner and scientist.
