Restore Microbial Balance in Your Home
GreenWorks has developed a proprietary service to address homes where microbial ecology (Fungi, molds, bacteria, algae, viruses, etc.) are out of balance. The process is called "HomeShock™," similar to how water chemistry is “shocked” for your pool. This service is particularly important when dealing with sensitized individuals and the exact source is not known, or you need time to take the appropriate steps. The treatment addresses all micro-organisms, their secondary metabolites, odors, and building material-related volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
What is HomeShock™?
This rapid response helps eradicate the micro-organisms, stabilize the home’s biome, and give the occupants time to identify the source and correct it.
HomeShock™ components incorporate a GWE Proprietary Process that also incorporates industry-accepted protocols for remediation and is approved by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
The process is customized to accommodate your unique environment (home, business, retail shop, etc) and usually involves the following steps:
Step I Environmental Cleanse
An enhanced fine particulate cleanse is the first step in HomeShock™. This step is designed to identify and purge nuisance dust, respirable dust, and nanoparticles.
- Trained and certified building biologists & mold experts identify microbial reservoirs to be addressed.
- Contents and smalls are further addressed.
- Pre-treatment with vaporous hydrogen peroxide may be needed.
- Team of eradicators physically clean reservoirs and wipe down horizontal and vertical surfaces with EPA Approved biocides completing a fine particulate cleanse.
- HEPA equipped air scrubbers and vacuums filter the air and eradicate nuisance dust during the process.
- Pre and post-conditions validated with the use of ATP Machines.
Step II – Microbial and VOC Eradication
Vaporous Hydrogen Peroxide (VHP) has been proven as a rapid eradicator of biological agents and microorganisms (molds, bacteria, fungi, yeast, mycotoxins, etc) The US FDA considers VHP to be an established method of sterilization recognizing VHPs long history of safety and effectiveness.
- Trained and certified VHP technicians design a treatment plan based on the identification of mold reservoirs.
- Treatment areas prepped where all confined spaces (cabinets, dresser drawers, chests, etc.) are opened to allow for saturation of VHP.
- VHP treatment is applied and dwell time is maintained.
- Treatment is validated with biological strips, peroxide sensors and ATP machines.
Step III Building Biome Enhancement
Not all micro-organisms are bad. Particularly important when dealing with someone who is sensitized to mold or suffering from mold illness a healthy biome is the goal.
- Application of proven probiotics via an ultra-low volume (ULV) fogger.
- Process will be further validated with ATP machines.
Guarantees and Disclaimers
While there are no guarantees on whether the treatment will be effective in improving the homes IAQ or the occupants health conditions; GWE has experienced good results that last for 10 – 18 months.
When dealing with nuisance odors and biotoxins, it has been GWE’s experience that odors and toxins tend to initially amplify after the treatment. As the bound up material is released from a saturated state from the home (associated with home contents and building materials, etc.), occupants often state they “feel” worse at first where this general malaise often dissipates with use of air purifiers, ventilators and ambient environmental conditions are given time to allow the home environment to re-balance itself.
